WaveSplitter Announces New Vice President of Quality Assurance
Thomas Adda Joins Executive Team to Build World-Class Quality
Organization
FREMONT, CA - May 14, 2001 - WaveSplitter Technologies,
Inc., a worldwide supplier of fiber-optic components and modules
for advanced optical networks, today announced the appointment of
Thomas Adda as Vice President of Quality Assurance. Mr. Adda will
provide leadership to WaveSplitter's ongoing quality initiatives,
which include enhancing the reliability of fiber-optic components
and modules and boosting product improvements continually during
rapid manufacturing growth.
With over fifteen years of experience in the fiber optics industry,
Thomas Adda has an extensive background in quality, reliability,
and manufacturing process development of fiber-optic components
and modules. Prior to joining WaveSplitter, Mr. Adda was Director
of Quality Assurance at E-Tek Dynamics/JDS Uniphase, where he was
responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance
of a scalable quality system. Prior to that position, Mr. Adda was
the head of quality for AMP's (acquired by Tyco) Passive Products
Division and a Project Manager for the introduction and qualification
of optical waveguide packaging technology into manufacturing. He
was also a Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T/Tyco Submarine
Systems supporting manufacturing test system development. From 1991
to 1996 he held various positions at AT&T/Lucent Technologies,
Bell Laboratories as a Member of the Technical Staff, and as an
Engineer from 1986 to 1989.
His professional accomplishments include enabling continuous product
improvements during rapid manufacturing growth and the efficient
transfer and establishment of systems for manufacturing locations
in Asia. He established a comprehensive reliability organization
and participated in the latest revision of the TelcordiaÔ
reliability standards for passive optical components.
