WaveSplitter Announces New Vice President of Engineering and Operations
Seasoned Technology Veteran Joins Top Management Team
FREMONT, CA -June 26, 2002 - WaveSplitter Technologies,
Inc., a worldwide supplier of integrated optical components and
modules for advanced optical networks, today announced the appointment
of Ralph Ahlgren as Vice President of Engineering and Operations.
Mr. Ahlgren's combination of engineering and operations expertise
will allow him to drive product development and pilot manufacturing
across WaveSplitter's multiple technology platforms and ensure a
smooth and rapid transition to volume production.
Mr. Ahlgren brings 20-plus years of experience to WaveSplitter having
served in executive level engineering and operational roles at both
large and start-up companies. Prior to joining WaveSplitter, Mr.
Ahlgren served as Senior Vice President of Engineering at C Speed,
a privately held company developing 3D MEMS-based optical-switch
subsystems. Before that Mr. Ahlgren served as President and COO
of Silicon Evolution, a silicon-on-insulator materials company.
In addition, Mr. Ahlgren has served as Vice President, Development
Engineering and Manufacturing Operations at Candescent Technologies
Corporation and Senior Director of Operations at Read-Rite Corporation.
Mr. Ahlgren began his career at IBM Corporation where he served
in a variety of key executive positions.
