WaveSplitter Announces New Board Member
Nothhaft brings broad network experience to WaveSplitter Board
Fremont, CA, August 15, 2000 - WaveSplitter Technologies,
Inc., a worldwide supplier of fiber optic components for optical
amplifier and DWDM systems, today announced the appointment of Henry
Nothhaft to their prestigious Board of Directors. Mr. Nothhaft's
more than 25 years of network industry experience and management
background complements the already strong board in place at WaveSplitter.

Currently, Mr. Nothhaft is Vice Chairman of NextLink, which recently
merged with Concentric, as well as President and CEO of Concentric.
During his tenure with NextLink, which provides tailored, value-added
e-business services primarily targeted at small- to medium-sized
enterprises, he was President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman
of the Board. Mr. Nothhaft also serves on the Board of Directors
for Vertical Networks, Asia Online, and the Telecommunications Advisory
Board of Compaq Computer Corporation.
In addition to Mr. Nothhaft, the WaveSplitter Board of Directors
includes Chairman and WaveSplitter founder Sheau Chen; David Ladd,
General Partner of the venture capital firm Mayfield Funds; Tingye
Li, retired AT&T scientist and Charles Lau, Managing Director
of China Development Industrial Banks' U.S Venture Capital Operations.
