    Product Capabilities and Value

WaveSplitterî–¸ XENPAK - LX4 transceiver offers a 10Gbase-LX compatible interface in a XenPak MSA compliant package. The LX4 transceiver is based on proprietary optical mux and de-mux technology, which enables reliable coarse wavelength-division multiplexing (CWDM) of 8 optical data streams (4 transmit, 4 receive). The LX4 offers high performance, cost effective 10Gb/s data transmission over legacy multimode fiber.

The LX4 is an integrated multi-wavelength transmitter/receiver designed for 10Gb/s transmission over legacy multimode fiber links. The transceiver is housed in an XENPAK MSA compliant package with a duplex SC receptacle optical interface.

The received four wavelength optical signal is de-multiplexed into four PIN TIA receivers and limiting amps before being conditioned by the XAUI to XAUI driver for transmission as 4 x 3.125 Gb/s XAUI signals. The transmitter accepts 4 x 3.125 Gb/s XAUI inputs and conditions the signals for driving four lasers, which are multiplexed onto a single fiber.

The module also includes a standard XENPAK MDIO interface, APS power supply functions, as well as, other XENPAK MSA features.
