Product
Capabilities and Value
WaveSplitter and Infineon’s family of integrated monitoring products
addresses the needs of DWDM system designers to save space while
increasing functionality, particularly for all-optical networks. In
one
configuration, individual channel monitors are added to an AWG
by tapping a small amount of power from the waveguides while
allowing the majority of the power to pass. Flip-chip bonding allows
automated alignment of the electronic detector layer to the optical
waveguides with very little increase in footprint. In the optical
channel monitor, an AWG demultiplexes the input and individual
photodiodes monitor each channel for real-time power monitoring.
In both cases, the combination of Infineon and WaveSplitter’s
expertise enables best-in-class hybrid integration products.
